Lessons about your own life
Linguino can make lessons about your own life: where you live, who you want to talk to, what is coming up. It starts with a short chat with your teacher in English (simple English if you are learning English), so you do not need to speak your new language yet.
Start the chat
- At the end of onboarding, choose "Make lessons about my life". It is optional.
- Or use the "About you" card on your home screen, above your path or your scenes.
- If you are not signed in, you sign in with your email first.
The chat takes a few minutes. Your teacher asks one question at a time: who you are, where you live (a city or a country is enough), your work or studies, who you want to speak the language with and why, what is coming up, and what you enjoy. Skip any question you like, or stop early. Your teacher never asks about your health, religion, politics or money, your exact address, the name of your workplace or school, or your contact details.
Your lessons
When the chat ends, Linguino builds your lessons, which takes a moment. The "About you" card then shows three or four scenes from your own life, each with a line on why it is there. Choose Start and Linguino makes the lesson for that scene, then you play it live like any other. A scene is done when you score 60 or more, and the card shows your best score.
Neither the chat nor these scenes need practice time. If you have some, they use it like any live session. If you do not, each one is a free three-minute session.
Notes in your notebook
Unless memory is paused, the chat can also add up to five short notes about you to your notebook, and your teacher may bring them up in later lessons. See, edit or delete them there like any other note.
Start again
Choose "Redo the interview" to have the chat again. Your new scenes replace the old ones and start from zero, but the lessons you already played stay in My lessons. You have one set of these lessons per language. Deleting your account deletes them.
