Start your first lesson

Starting your first lesson takes under a minute. From the home page, pick the language you want to practice. You will see a catalog of scenes — everyday situations like ordering at a café or meeting someone new. Every scene includes a free three-minute live session.

Step by step

• Pick your language on the home page (or search for one under "Learning something else?").
• Choose a scene from the catalog.
• Sign in with your email — we send you a six-digit code, no password needed.
• Allow microphone access when your browser asks. Your teacher cannot hear you without it.
• The scene art appears and your teacher starts talking. Just respond out loud.

When the session ends, a short quiz follows, then your scorecard. Your lesson is saved automatically — find it later under My lessons, and the phrases you practiced under Phrasebook.

Tip: headphones make a real difference on laptops and phones. They stop your teacher’s voice from echoing into your microphone.
