Dove ritiro le chiavi?
“Where do I pick up the keys?”

The moment

The lines
Getting the keys
Hosts expect one short question: 'Dove ritiro le chiavi?' The plain present tense already covers the near future, so you never need a future form here.
Dove ritiro le chiavi?
“Where do I pick up the keys?”
When to use it: Calling or messaging the host before you arrive
What you’ll hear back: Nella cassetta accanto al portone, ti mando il codice. (In the lockbox next to the main door, I will send you the code.)
Things break by themselves
Italian lets the object break on its own: 'Si è rotta la caldaia e non c'è acqua calda.' It reports the fault without admitting you caused it, and 'rotta' agrees with the feminine 'caldaia'.
Si è rotta la caldaia e non c'è acqua calda.
“The boiler has broken and there's no hot water.”
When to use it: Messaging the host when something in the flat fails
What you’ll hear back: Scusa, chiamo subito il tecnico. (Sorry, I will call the technician right away.)

'Si può' plus an infinitive asks about the rule; 'puoi' would ask what the host himself may do.
