The lines

Che ne dite se…?

The standard way to float a time to an Italian team: "Che ne dite se ci vediamo giovedì mattina?" Keep the verb in the present, use dite with the group and dici with one colleague.

Che ne dite se ci vediamo giovedì mattina?

“How about we meet on Thursday morning?”

When to use it: Proposing a time to the whole group

What you’ll hear back: Per me va benissimo, ma facciamo dopo pranzo? (Fine by me, but shall we say after lunch?)

Disagreeing without a flat no

Nobody opens with non sono d'accordo. You acknowledge first, then turn: "Capisco quello che dici, però io la vedo diversamente." It wins you the floor without making it personal.

Capisco quello che dici, però io la vedo diversamente.

“I understand what you're saying, but I see it differently.”

When to use it: Pushing back on a colleague's proposal

What you’ll hear back: E allora tu cosa proponi? (So what do you suggest then?)
