The lines

Say who you are and why

Japanese service calls open with a formula, not a hello: 「お世話になっております」, your name with 〜と申しますが, then the topic with 〜の件でお電話しました. Saying it in one breath marks you as someone who knows the ritual.

Read the plan back

Before you hang up, repeat what was agreed with 「確認させていただきますが、〜ということでよろしいでしょうか。」 Japanese staff expect this read-back, and it quietly forces the agent to commit to a date.

確認させていただきますが、来週の火曜日にご連絡いただけるということでよろしいでしょうか。
