raishū no suiyōbi no gogo wa ikaga deshō ka.
“How would next Wednesday afternoon be?”
When: Suggesting a slot to a client or a senior colleague

The moment
You are in a Monday planning meeting at your Tokyo office. You need to propose a date for the next review, push back on one idea without offending anyone, and confirm who does what.

The lines
Proposing a time politely
いかがでしょうか is the meeting-room version of 'how about'. Put the time first with
raishū no suiyōbi no gogo wa ikaga deshō ka.
“How would next Wednesday afternoon be?”
When to use it: Suggesting a slot to a client or a senior colleague
What you’ll hear back: 水曜日ですね。 suiyōbi desu ne. daijōbu da to omoimasu. (Wednesday? I think that works.)
Agreeing first, then disagreeing
Japanese meetings almost never start with 'no'. Concede with 確かにそうですね, then turn with ただ and soften the objection with かもしれません: 「確かにそうですね。
tashika ni sō desu ne. tada, sukejūru-teki ni sukoshi kibishii kamo shiremasen.
“That's true. But the schedule may be a little tight.”
When to use it: Objecting to a proposal without sounding blunt
What you’ll hear back: では、いつ頃なら大丈夫ですか。 de wa, itsu goro nara daijōbu desu ka. (Then roughly when would work?)
