Progress & review

Your progress page and the level check

Open Progress in the top navigation, and choose a language at the top of the page. It shows what you have shown you can do, not just how much you have practiced.

What you will see

  • Your level card: your level overall and for listening, speaking, interaction and pronunciation, with what you do well and what to try next.
  • Active vocabulary: how many words and phrases you have said on your own.
  • Voice capsule: how many clips you have saved, with a link to play them.
  • Your voice over time: twelve weeks of your answer time (how quickly you start speaking), your share of the talking, and minutes of your own voice. A chart appears once you have practiced in two different weeks.
  • What you can do: short statements for A1, A2 and B1, like "I can ask for an item and ask how much it costs." Each one is earned when a conversation shows it, with a quote of what you said, or when you pass a checkpoint that covers it.

Check your level

Choose "Check your level" for a short, relaxed chat with your teacher. Just talk the way you normally would. Afterwards your teacher takes a few seconds to listen back, and your level card appears. It also updates the level your lessons use. A new check is offered eight weeks after your last one.

The level check does not need practice time. If you have some, it uses it like any live session. If not, it is a free session that does not count toward your daily free sessions. It has no Help or "Try that again" buttons and no Replay. If the chat was too short to tell, you are asked to try again and say a little more each time.

Share your level card

Your level card is private. Turn on "Share your level card" to get a link you can copy and send. Anyone with the link sees your language, your levels and the date, never your email or what you said. The link works until you turn sharing off. Earlier checks are under "Earlier level checks", each with its own sharing switch.
