Your notebook: what your teacher remembers

To make lessons feel personal, your teacher remembers a few things you share in conversation, like an upcoming trip, who you will be talking to, or what you do for work. Memory is on by default, and you can see everything in your notebook (Notebook in your account menu, top right).

What is in your notebook

  • About you: short notes your teacher saved, such as "Has a sister named Ana" or "Is visiting Lyon in March". Edit or delete any of them, or delete them all at once.
  • Mistakes you are working on, for each language, and whether they are fading or fixed.
  • Words you have used on your own in conversation.
  • Your teacher: for each language, where your teacher’s language comes from and how much background sound plays in live lessons. See "Choose where your teacher’s language comes from" and "Background sound and your teacher’s pace".

Pause memory

Pause memory and your teacher will not save or use personal details. Your mistakes and words are still tracked, because they are part of your learning progress. Deleting your account deletes everything in your notebook.
